I am a Visiting Fellow at the Griffith Asia Institute, Griffith University. I have a doctorate from the University of New South Wales on grand strategy and have taught on the topic at the Eisenhower College, US National Defence University. I have extensive defence experience, and for my work at the Pentagon on force structure matters was awarded the US Secretary of Defense’s Exceptional Public Service Medal. For my academic work I was awarded a Fellowship to the European University Institute, Italy. I contribute regularly to the public policy debate on strategy, defence and foreign affairs and am widely published.
